well the trip into the cavern was unreal it was defiantly an experience,we walked in which was a 1.25 mile walk down 800 ft to the great room where we had a break. we drank a gator aid and continued on for another 1.5 miles of caves and caverns, by that time I had enough exercise for the day and we took the elavator back up to the suface. that was probably the best part of the trip I thought it was amusing to see Missie go undergound with here phobias but to see her get into an elavator for a trip up 80 flights was funny as hell especially when the bell hop crammed us in like cattle and then said she was going to shut the lights off so we could see the outer tunnel good through the glass door as we accended LOL. then spent the rest of the day just sitting back at the rv.
The next day I figured since we were near steves old stopping ground we rolled out and headed for Texas, we rolled through the guatalupa mountian range and then headed for el paso texas. after checking out the town we headed north back into new mexico. we ended up just north of las crusus where we decided to set up camp.
the next day we took a road trip to white sands to see the area and see some of the missile testing sites real cool area and lots of neat things concerning missiles and space craft. the only thing i didnt understand was the check point out in the middle of the desert in the middle of new mexico, where home land security had set up to pull eveyone over. so we pulled in as instructed and joe bag of dounuts strolled up to out window and bent down to pear in and asked are you all american citiizens, ( are you serious of course we are you dumb ass and we have rights so get the hell out of our way and stop waisting our time) is whati i was thinking but of course i just said yep and his response was ok have a great day. our tax dollars at work. but had a great day and stopped by a local pistachio farm on our way back and seen the worlds largest pistachio and had some free wine and nuts and am heading home to have a beer and call it a day.

still rollin
So last i believe we were in Roswell using the Internet at the local visitor center and had checked things out in town. and that night we tied one on like i haven't done in years so we slept in yesterday and just hung around the rv park all day. This morning it was bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to roll, we headed out out around mid morning and made it to a small rv park just out side of Carlsbad cavern. Plan to have a few more beers tonight while miss sips a little wine then off to bed. for tomorrow we descend 790 ft under ground into the cavern should be a hoot.

Trip to taos
Yesterday was a fun day we took a road trip up north to taos new Mexico, another down town walk and we stopped to check out the oldest inhabited Pueblo in the US. Its hard to believe there was a worse place than north Casper but we found it omg they are still living like the Indians did hundreds of years ago. well who new there was a third world country in the states. So after our trip to the past we headed down the road to check out the Rio Grand gorge and river, then finished our trip with a cool drive though the back hills. That's when we came across some really cool houses, they were built out of tires and recycled materials and seemed to be run off of solar panels and well water. Then to finish off a good day we stopped by the local liquor store in Sana Fe and headed home to have a drink and watch movies on net fl ix.

Down town sant fe
Well we are definitely not far enough south yet, its still way to cold here for me low 30's at night and only upper 40's in the day. Got up yesterday and whipped up a batch of banana bread muffins first thing in the morning, you know me got to have that nutritional breakfast. waited around for a few hours for mom and Brittany to do there daily morning routines. then headed off for our trip down town, well the culture is definitely different here. We spent some time going through the local down town store and it took every thing i had to keep Brittany from spending every red cent she had, man does that girl love to shop. then we heard that the oldest church in the U.S was right up the street so took a little stroll up the road. (ST. Francis of Assisi ) was way nice it was first built in 1610 then redone in 1986, we checked out the grounds and then ventured inside. I bet we got some sweet ST. Peter points for that trip :)

an exploration day
So our first day landed us in Santa Fe new Mexico, little different. the weather and the landscape are about the same as home, just a little more mild with a touch more grease wood. I did learn one more thing here pueblo is just another word for the rez, and they are every where. So we spent the day yesterday just driving around trying to get the lay of the land, looks like a lot to see around here so we decided to stay for a week before rolling out.

Then it was in the late afternoon that i realized i was a hunting fishing red neck when i turned to talk with my wife on the way back to the car. And she looked more like my Sherpa than my wife LOL.

a bad day of fishing always beats a good day of work
just sitting here sipping my coffee wonder what is up.
Got up yesterday to get some things done, ya right turns out the whole town needs to take of sat, sun and mon to celebrate the new year. So it turns out not much got marked off my list, so like a good rednecks we decided to go fishing. So melissa, anthony and i headed out to the north plate to have a little fun, melissa took a few pics and we tried to catch a fish. Well it was a fun day but no fish and melissa was not fast enough with the camera to get a pic when i slipped and took a digger. But still was a great day over all.

cold
1-02-12
Well another great cup of coffee:
So still not alot going on here yet, had the day off so decided to go for a local walk through fort casper yesterday. Then learned a good lesson this morning, never go to bed in a motor home in wyoming in the middle of winter without checking the level of the propane!!!! So it was around 430 this morning when i jumped up to turn on a space heater and while climbing back into bed. my better half made a suggestion GET UP AND CHANGE THE PROPANE TANK. So after bundling up i ventured out into the Arctic tundra, i chipped the ice off the tank and changed it out. Going back to bed (not an option) so looks like a two cup of coffee day today LOL.

just another day
Well we are up and enjoying another cup of coffee again. So since yesterday morning i talked with my boss lakrisha and it looks like the 14 th will be my last day of work. That means we have two more weeks to tie up all the loose ends here. Then we should be ready to test out the wheels on our new home, but for now we will just here and ponder the notion that it is 18 degrees out side and our water is frozen solid in our camper (lol thank God for bottled water).
